CHALLENGES FACED BY PROFESSIONAL MODELS

Anytime we see a professional model, we usually have this liking for them, as we envy their beauty and shape. It is a conventional assumption that a beautiful person has all it takes to be happy, hence, it becomes the feature which we all want to have.

People go to great extent to ensure that they are beautiful; they spent lots of money on what they eat, and some even go to lengths of spending money on plastic surgery in order to look better. People are often of the opinion that there is nothing to pity a model for, except for the fact that they are very cautious of what they eat.

Below are challenges which professional models face:

  1. Sexual abuse: This is one of the major challenges which professional models go through. A good number of individuals who are managers of models, especially female models, are known to subject them to different forms of sexual harassment. Some could be compelled to strip for the manager, others could be forced to have sex with them, in order to give them big contracts in return.
  2. Necessary surgeries: Some models also have to go under the knife to ensure that they attain a particular desired shape and size. However, people who are not in the modelling industry do not know what perfectly-looking models go through whenever we see them, and crave for their stature.
  3. Substance abuse: Most models are known to be hooked on one substance or the other, and this can be attributed to the fact that they urgently needed something which would help them remain acceptable in the eyes of the public. A good number of models for instance, lack the necessary confidence, hence, they rely on various substances which would help them maintain their composure. Also with this, they begin to watch their diet, in order to make up for the effect caused by the substance they take. In the long run, their bodies and mental health begin to react adversely to these substances.
  4. The fear of expiring: There is this silent fear which models face, and it is the fear of getting out of fashion, as there are young and more beautiful girls who are regularly gracing the face of the modelling industry. Hence, the older models would ensure that they do all it takes to remain relevant.
